Who is old enough to remember “We Are The World”? Here is the opening verse:
There comes a time when we need a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
I can’t get it out of my mind. “When the world must come together as one“. This song was produced 35 years ago, but how true is that right now? Here is more lyrics…
When you’re down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There’s no way we can fall
The past several weeks have been bleak to say the least. We have seen the stock market crash. The news online and on tv gets worse every day. We have seen the number of deaths rise daily. We have heard that it will all get worse before it gets better. We have been soaking in all of this negativity and it is hard to escape every time we look at our social media feed, turn on the news or even enter a grocery store. It is a constant reminder.
Over the past month, we have allowed our minds to meddle in the sadness, uncertainty and bleakness. Scared. Helpless. Depressed. We have let it live there.
So now guess what? We have done our time. We allowed our minds to be there. And now we have a choice to begin pivoting.
It’s time to begin thinking about what is possible. Begin to transition your thoughts to think about what we have to be thankful for. Think about what we have to look forward to. A future when we can go out in public carefree.
If you really pause to begin thinking these positive thoughts, your mind just did a pivot. It began a mental shift to positivity.
It’s time for us to collectively begin shifting our consciousness towards positivity.
No One Is Exempt
Mother Nature communicated with us in a very loud way.
“Enough is enough,” she said.
She said it is time to get everyone on the same page. Nations. Leaders. Humans. It’s time to wake up and take care of me and of each other. No more fighting. No more disagreements. No more “we are better than you.”
Think about how this pandemic has proven that we all are the same. We all are vulnerable. NO ONE is exempt. World Leaders, CEOs, celebrities, millionaires, middle income, homeless, gay, straight, all races, all nationalities, all ages.
It has proven that we are no different than our neighbors. It has shown us how small our disagreements are about religion, national influence, equal rights, and all other reasons people and countries argue.
None of that matters, but the human race matters. When you strip away all of our material things like cars, houses, clothing, and toys, what is left? Just each other. We are all in this together.
Isn’t it amazing to think how the entire world has collectively paused to focus on this one thing? The environment is healing. Our minds have been able to rest and pause instead of being busy all of the time and potentially avoiding our own self. We now have time to take care of ourselves like we should have been doing all along.
Universe is in Perfect Harmony
People are getting creative. While we may be getting stir-crazy, we ultimately are becoming refreshed. It is teaching us that we matter. That we are all connected. That not only do we need to connect more with ourselves, but we also need each other more than ever.
Communities are coming together to embrace this change. (And we need to be thankful we have the internet. Because I can’t imagine doing this without the internet). How blessed are we? The universe is in perfect harmony.
Over the past several weeks I have seen so many amazing things occur. So many positive things. Here are just some of what I have seen through my social media feed. But I know there are hundreds of other things going on as we speak:
- Teacher car parades driving through neighborhoods at a scheduled time so their students can see them from a distance and say hello.
- Meditations and yoga sessions done online to help others.
- Creating a game for children by placing a stuffed animal in the window so families can drive by their friend’s house to see if they can spot the stuffed animal and snap a picture collecting as many as they can.
- Drive by birthday parties.
- Live music performances from balconies entertaining neighbors.
- Entire neighborhoods clapping and cheering at a specific time each evening to thank medical professionals, caregivers and anyone assisting with helping others during this difficult time.
- DJ’s going live on Facebook!! Make sure you follow Sonny Fodera from London. He had an amazing, free Sunday Funday live session this past Sunday.
- Drag shows live! Amazing!!
- Live workouts from living rooms to help keep everyone fit
Wow! How amazing is all of this? We have begun to shift our consciousness to helping others even more than we have before. We have realized that we can share our talents to help others. We have adapted to what the universe has given us and remained thankful for what we have.
We should all be thankful. We should all be proud. Because we are all in this together. No one is exempt.
